ARCO DEL SOLE - FROSINONE

2026 – RESIDENTIAL AND COMMERCIAL

 

The project reinterprets the semi-enclosed courtyard typology, drawing inspiration from the historic buildings of the Frosinone area while designing spaces for contemporary living.
Volumetrically, the complex consists of a ground-floor podium of approximately 3,500 sq m, characterized by porticoed frontages intended for commercial use, above which the residential building rises in an irregular pentagonal layout.
The above-ground volumes feature a stepped arrangement to optimize solar exposure and natural ventilation across the complex, offering unique views towards the historic center of Frosinone.
The facade design is defined by a structural grid of arches with varying spans that support the loggias behind. These loggias feature a depth that creates seamless continuity with the interior living spaces, reinterpreting the indoor-outdoor relationship through a spatial mediation that provides new opportunities for daily life.
The building envelope utilizes a ventilated facade system clad in local Coreno Stone, optimizing the building's thermal performance and reducing the environmental impact of the materials (zero-km).

In addition to the private building, the development includes the site regeneration through the creation of public spaces, such as a park, a new road connecting axis, and a parking area sheltered by photovoltaic canopies.
